New Town, New Blog

Susie and I have been in Tucson for a month and a half now and we're settling in nicely. Boxes are being unpacked. Furniture is being purchased. We just bought a gently used bookcase and we're going to pick up a couple more (I had a lot of books in storage). I've also started a blog which I've always wanted to do so now I'm going to write about my observations and adventures in a new town.

As a part of settling in, we registered to vote in our new hometown. We did it in the nick of time, too, right before the deadline. It's a good thing too. There will be a proposition on the ballot, Prop. 102, that is just stupid. It's an anti-gay marriage proposition. While I don't support it because of it's initial purpose, I also don't support it because it is unnecessary and a waste of money. There's already a similar law already in place in Arizona. Millions of dollars have been raised by private citizens to promote this wasteful proposition. The man who created this bill, Tim Bee, is a state senator who is running for Congress. I don't think he should be in charge of lunch, let alone the welfare of the citizens of Southern Arizona.
